Episode 14 Social Networking and The Church

August 23, 2007 By: Marty Category: , , , , ,

Tonight we had a great conversation with Two people I really admire who are presenting God 2.0 to the masses through MySpace and also a new web community called Shoutlife.com.

The conversation took place between myself, Marty Daniels, T. Pylus who is the moderator of “Jesus Lovin’ Church of MySpace”, one of the largest religious groups on MySpace.com and Paul McLellan, President and Founder of ShoutLife.com, an online community that caters to the Christian lifestyle.

——————————————————————————

We also give one example of how members of Shoutlife are coming together to show the hands and feet of Christ to another person who is recovering from tragedy.

Humble O Radio: Lucy Diamonds

August 21, 2007 By: Marty Category: , , , , , , , , ,

Welcome to Humble O Radio, episode Number 13…and they said it wouldn’t last.

Tonight is Tuesday August 21, 2007 and we originally had wanted to talk about the subject of Racism In the Church, unfortunately I’m not prepared to take that subject on as clearly as I would like to, and it is just too important to gloss over it or to try and half step through. So we’ll save that for another night in the near future.

Tonight, I am glad to be joined again by my good friends, Brian and Shawn Chrisagis better known as The Chrisagis BrothersOver the last 20 years Brian and Shawn have rubbed elbows with Hollywood Superstars and some of the elite ministries in North America.

  • Our featured guest tonight is an exciting hip hop talent out of Atlanta…LUCY DIAMONDS…she’s energetic, outspoken and bold and tonight we’re going to learn a little bit about her faith, career path, happenings and also her relationship with PETA.

Humble O Radio Episode 11 Forgiveness

August 14, 2007 By: Marty Category: , , , , , , , ,

My wife Trina and I have been married nearly 20 years and of course each one has been a cakewalk…like every other marriage or relationship, right? It doesn’t matter if you’re an Atheist, Christian, Muslim or Oompa Lompa, if you can’t figure out how to forgive, you are destined to have a very miserable and lonely life.

Without allowing your self to forgive little things will become huge issues and ultimately that only hurts you.

  • So forgive the guy who cuts you off in traffic.
  • Forgive the person who screwed you over in that business deal.
  • Forgive the spouse who takes you for granted…but what does that forgiveness look like?

Does it mean you let people walk all over you?

Not all…and we’ll talk about all of this tonight on Humble O Radio.

Episode 11 Tuesday 08-14-07

August 12, 2007 By: Marty Category: , , , , , , ,

I want to invite you and your friends to join in on the conversation on Episode11 of Humble O Radio.

It happens on Tuesday August 14, 2007 @ 7:30PM Eastern.

We’ll be talking about FORGIVENESS.

Ghandi said that “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute ofthe strong.”

Forgiveness is essential to the Christian faith.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Corinth…

2Cr 2:4 How painful it was to write that letter! Heartbroken, I cried over it. I didn’t want to hurt you, but I wanted you to know how very much I love you.

2Cr 2:5 I am not overstating it when I say that the man who caused all the trouble hurt your entire church more than he hurt me.

2Cr 2:6 He was punished enough when most of you were united in your judgment against him.

2Cr 2:7 Now it is time to forgive him and comfort him. Otherwise he may become so discouraged that he won’t be able to recover.

2Cr 2:8 Now show him that you still love him.

  • Are there some things that can’t be forgiven?
  • Are there things, sins, crimes, actions, attitudes that shouldn’t be forgiven?
  • What experiences have you had with forgiveness?
  • Have you ever needed to be forgiven by someone else?
  • What was your reaction to their approach?
  • Have you ever had to go forgive someone who was totally clueless that they had hurt you?
  • Has anyone ever trivialized or been offended by your seeking of or granting of forgiveness?

Failure

August 06, 2007 By: Marty Category: , , , , , , ,

The average person explains away their failure, forever unwilling to stare into the light and see that their sacred cow was just a cow… Roy Williams

I never want to be that person. I never want to be the one who looks at my life and says “pretty good, if it wouldn’t have been for those darn….” I won’t do it.

In the same breath I don’t want to constantly beat myself up for my failures.

There are all kinds of failures. They are moral, professional, social, ethical, business related and so on. Looking at the list I have taken a bite out of each one of those but I don’t want to be the one who can’t give myself room to breath from my failures. which is probably closer to where I am.

My failures always linger over my head waiting to crush me again and again and when I feel like I am getting some breathing room, there they are again!

Are you like me or have you learned how to forgive yourself and move on?

If you have I want you to join the conversation Tuesday night @ 7:30 PM EDT on the next Humble O Radio.

If you are exactly like me and still waiting for the sky to fall I want you to be there too. I want us to talk about how it taints and tints our faith and our ability to “Be all that we can be”, not only in our faith but also in our relationships and our professions.

Starting September 10, 2007 the show will be LIVE

MONDAY – THURSDAY @ 10:00 PM EDT at HumbleORadio.com
