So Your Other Job is “Glamorous Author”…

Writer…Interrupted was birthed out of my own need to connect with other writing moms. Though I found many wonderful mommy blogs that talked about raising families, none met my unique need of balancing a writing career with raising a family. Soon after I launched the Writer…Interrupted group blog I realized there were other writers, fathers, employees, caregivers, and students who were also interrupted in their writing.
Almost two years later, the Writer…Interrupted blog has grown into a webring and an online community with over 200 members each. Not all members belong to both. The blog features a dozen contributers who post on the craft of writing, personal writing testimonies, faith, book reviews, and family issues related to writing. It’s been a great way to help connect other interrupted writers to finding the support they need in their unique circumstances.While the blog is filling a niche, my vision for Writer…Interrupted is being realized in Writer…Interrupted: The Community (a Ning). There, people are really connecting through personal blog entries, forums and prayer requests.
I recently read Humble O’s interview with Mike Dellosso. Mike is a regular contributor with Writer…Interrupted who just found out he has cancer. His first book is also releasing in a month. Talk about a writer interrupted! The community has stepped up and organized a blog tour for Mike so he can concentrate on taking care or himself, and so doesn’t have to worry about promoting his book. That’s what Writer…Interrupted is all about. Encouraging, caring and helping one another along the journey to publication.
