Episode 14 Social Networking and The Church
Tonight we had a great conversation with Two people I really admire who are presenting God 2.0 to the masses through MySpace and also a new web community called Shoutlife.com.
The conversation took place between myself, Marty Daniels, T. Pylus who is the moderator of “Jesus Lovin’ Church of MySpace”, one of the largest religious groups on MySpace.com and Paul McLellan, President and Founder of ShoutLife.com, an online community that caters to the Christian lifestyle.

We also give one example of how members of Shoutlife are coming together to show the hands and feet of Christ to another person who is recovering from tragedy.
A young mother was in a horrible auto accident and as a result lost her twin babies. The impact of the loss to her family and herself is so profound, but they are not alone. In that moment an online community made up of several people who love God, love each other and believe in the power of prayer joined together in faith to help reach out and be the healing hands of Jesus in the aftermath.
I read a blog posted on one of my friends pages that read something similar to this.
Borrowing an idea from a Chinese custom and “tweaking” it a bit, Kerry & I, Bridget, want to INVITE you to help us “COVER” Amanda with………….. A Blessing Quilt!
What we would like to ask from each person is:
* ONE 8×8 square of PRE~washed COTTON fabric
* on a 5×7 index card or card stock, attach a small sample of the fabric ALONG with a Blessing! Thought ! Scripture! Poem! that you choose to “bless” Amanda.
* send by Sept 30,2007 to:

{Kerry will use EVERY square and handcraft / design a quilt and Bridget will organize and “scrapbook” all the cards. SO that as Amanda looks through the “book” while covered with the quilt made of the squares from SO many…..she will be able to identify from whom the fabric and sentiment is from.}
Kerry did NOT ask………BUT batting & backing is expensive. If you would like to help defray some of the cost with a $1 or $2 it would be MOST appreciated!
For every other failing and ill of Social Network sites, this is a beautiful example of something that has gone incredibly right…this is God moving among us in web 2.0.
